BRAND NEW HOCKEY FACILITY
Hamilton Boys High School is one of New Zealand’s finest secondary education centers catering for over two thousand students from across the Waikato region and overseas. Excellence is at the core the school’s value and has a strong tradition in offering a broad range of extra-curricular activities for its students. In 2019, the school embarked on an ambitious plan to install a FIH Global Hockey pitch with international level lighting. With the new Lumosa LED sports lights, the park is lit to well above the 500 lux requirement for the top teams. Wish to know more?
A full solution
Installation of the lights as part of a larger project – building a world-class FIH Global category Hockey pitch for Hockey mad – Hamilton Boys. The lighting includes providing new 18m light poles, electrical distribution and new Lumosa LED lights. At over 500 Lux with great consistency, the lights are bright enough to even penetrate the legendary Hamilton fog.
A full solution was proposed – starting with designing the lighting schematic, applying for, and receiving the building consent, and then having the light poles provided and installed to match that plan. The project went without a hitch and was well supported by local partners – Elektron Group. We wanted a solution that matched other LED-lit hockey fields around New Zealand such as Rangitoto College and Waikato Hockey at Gallagher Park.
Having the same lighting solution as Waikato Hockey made sense to our community. Lumosa was invaluable in advice and totally professional throughout the entire project
